About

40 something girl living the Southern California dream. I’m kind of a political junkie and obsessed, as I say on the main page, with individual freedom, specifically how it leads to self empowerment.

It’s dismaying to me how much power we as free citizens in the U.S. willingly give to politicians in return for a false sense of security and meaning. An all encompassing, “compassionate” government is damaging to the inner spirit and eventually erodes self initiative and growth. I’m hoping this blog helps people to understand better why individual liberty was so important to our Founders and why it’s so essential today to keep our own style of government centrally focused on this.

I’m very much an animal lover and outdoors person and wouldn’t give up morning coffee if my life depended on it. Well, ok maybe then but not for much else.  See ya on the blog!

I look forward to reading more of your thoughts–again, thank you—blessings and peace–Julie

    Hi Tricia

Just wanted to say that the reason I appear not to respond to your queries on ColorStorms blog is because my comments all go through moderation. Not all of them see the light of day.

I had actually given up commenting on his blog because I found it a futile exercise. Either the points I made were ignored, or I found the response was patronising (perhaps I am overly sensitive). But I am not aware of ever saying a cross word to him or saying anything that is false.

So I just wanted to explain that I had not ignored you.

Not a problem Peter. Actually I just don’t have time to do a back and forth with you on this. I appreciate your perspective but I just disagree. Can you allow me that and just leave things there? Besides, I don’t think it’s much fair to take up any more space on CS blog with this. 🙂

Hey there Tricia! Just clicking around the blogosphere and commenting on blogs that I think are fun and interesting, and you’re one of them. October is my birthday month, so consider this an invitation to my month-long birthday party. Hope to see you over at That’s So Jacob sometime!

Would you by any chance be interested in sharing your writings on a new site I’m putting together to help other writers gain more exposure and a wider audience? The material doesn’t have to be original (e.g. posts already published here) and links to author’s home sites (in their own posts) is something I plan on encouraging. The idea is, in a sense, to create a sort of networking and cross-promotion hub, but instead of being explicitly for that purpose I want to allow people to promote themselves through their actual content instead of just positive reviews, reblogs, etc.

The networking isn’t something contributors have to worry about either; the incentive for featuring material there is that I’ll be doing the footwork of building the platform and expanding the network *for* other people. If it sounds like something you might want to take part in, I’d be glad to have your writing featured there. The link, if you’re interested in checking it out: http://sutterpress.wordpress.com/ I’m looking to “launch” it in January and will be quietly building the platform and its reach, both before and after the intended start date.

  16. Being “obsessed” with individual liberty is not weird 🙂 Individual liberty, the preservation and expansion of it, is the cornerstone of a healthy and prosperous society and a powerful antidote to the poison of collectivism
