Social Media Stupidity

I saw this on Facebook the other day and was relieved to know that I could now give up my quest to find the most asinine post ever made and get back to normal life.Hate Speech

There is so much wrong here it’s hard to know where to start, but what stands out most to me is the purposefully divisive nature.  And not merely divisive either, but the childish, in your face, finger wagging type; like an obnoxious drunk arguing their point.

Really it’s just a bunch of hot, meaningless words meant to indulge one tribe of voters by demonizing others. Forget trying to understand complex issues and the nuances of why people might hold differing views, or assuming they too have the best of intentions, let’s just jump right to “….and a bunch of other children were put in to camps indefinitely because they weren’t white.”   Seriously?

Sick of the incivility and hostility in our politics?  If you’re posting stuff like this than you’re part of the problem. You’re also in dire need of a grammar lesson.

Afraid that is the sort of behavior too many have been learning in school and from the mass media. What is weird is that rich white guys own the mass media, and that doesn’t seem to register with a lot of people.

  2. It is the loss of human dignity as it pulls away the false facade of that which we have always claimed makes us a civilized society…pure and simple

  3. At the Golden Globe Awards in early January this year, Oprah said: “[W]hat I know for sure is that speaking your truth is the most powerful tool we all have.” Each self-centered disciple of that advice thinks and speaks entirely with their manipulable feelings. They have no objective awareness of what’s outside their “truth” bubble — they don’t even know they’re in a bubble. For these leftists, indignant rants are what they call speaking truth to power. If you point it out to them (as you’re trying to do here), they only escalate — with teeth bared and their iPhone cameras unholstered.

Speaking of “escalate”, here’s a laugh for you:

This one definitely wins. Kudos to its composer. It was a stiff competition.
The most sure way to make sure you are treated like a member of a flock of sheep is to be lead by your emotions and turn off your critical thinking.

  5. Amen, Tricia! Thanks for posting this. I am so irritated by this kind of divisive hyperbole, I dare not even write about it. 😉

  6. This is amazing. This goes beyond knowing how to be civil. It is becoming intentional deception and beyond just hyperbole. Thanks for speaking the truth.

I think you’re being optimistic and premature. Some liberal will top this comment and probably sooner rather than later.

  9. Amazing how brainwashed many of my friends are and post it on social media! I stay far away from it, but hard to resist responding to their stupid and sometimes angering memes mocking conservatives or snowflake propaganda!
